Not at all.
As long as you're offering him a reasonable rate, and he's willing to work for that rate, it's all good.

As a mother of a developmentally delayed daughter as long as I knew that she knew what she was doing and that she could handle the work and that you would treat her with the same respect that you would anyone else than I would say NO! People with development delays have to have some way of living and if he's advertising for the job than he's probably on the high side of developmentally delayed. My younger sister was and if she hadn't had other issues she would probably been able to live by herself for a longer period of time. I say GO for it and as long as you treat him as you would want someone to treat someone in your family with the same disability you've nothing to worry about.

I don't think this is wrong at all. If you know he advertises for odd jobs, there's nothing wrong with offering him one!
It could be the woman doesn't know this man as well as you do. If you know her, ask her why she disapproved. She may have assumed that you think that all mentally disabled people are good for nothing but housework.

definately not. If the man is advertising his services (and house cleaning, in my opinion qualifies as an "odd job") you have every right to make use of them. If anything you should be commended for your unprejudice views.

He needs to make a living, too, and this is something he can do in his capacity. Not everyone wants to live off government handouts, no matter what their disability. Ignore the woman. You're offering him a good price.

No as long as you pay him a good rate for the amount of work & he advertised for work its not. Maybe she didn't know he had advertised for jobs.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it, as long as he knows what he's doing and doesn't ruin any thing.
It could help his self confidence. you probably should do a background check on him and check references if you don't already know him.

As long as you don't exploit his handicap. And I think it would be unfair to boycott someone just because of their disability
