If B= 40 is an angle (and should be, given B is a capital letter)
then , its an easy problem , only you need to do this 180-(40+100)=40.
If B is a side then it has not a solution given the triangle ABC can not to be rectangle .

A = 40
because the angles of a triangle should be always equal to 180 degrees so A = 180 - (40 + 100)
A = 180 - 140
A = 40

When you add up the inside angles of a triangle it always equals 180. YOu can try this if you want- take a paper triangle and cut off the points. if you put them all together it will make a straight line.
So, we know there are 180 degrees total. Subtract 100, subtract 40, that equals 40.

The measure of all triangles add up to 180 degrees. To solve this problem, you add 40+100 which equals 140. Then you subtract 180-140 yo get 40.
