"Protection" fails 1 out of every 10 times. Like I told my boys when they got old enough to think about sex: "If you were to get on a plane with 9 other people and you KNEW that one person on that plane would die during the trip, would you still get on the plane? Its the say with protection. 1 out of 10 times you could get pregnant or get HIV or Aids or some other STD.
Plus, kids don't always use protection, their lust gets in the way of their common sense, or the booze or drugs get in the way. Plus there are some girls who want a baby, someone to love them unconditionally. I know of what I speak, since I work with those children every day.

Kids don't think before they act. They get caught up in the moment or they think because they're young or special they aren't likely to actually get pregnant. It's kinda like when they think they can do crazy things that could kill them but it won't because they're young.
Abstinence is the best protection! Plus condoms aren't 100% effective against pregnancy. They are definately not very effective against disease!

This is coming from a kid's mouth:
It's all because of the news they report on TV. I remember even watching a show, and they said "if you don't have sex, then you're not grown up". We all want to be considered grown up, not a child anymore.
Also, sometimes we are too afraid to actually go to the store and get a condom. We're scared of what the lady over the counter would think of us.

Lack of Education. No one wants to admit kids are starting younger and younger these days. Parents need to be very frank with their children from a young age and not skirt around it....the other day a very intelligent young girl went to the drs office for weight gain and gas.......turned out she was pregnant and she told the doc well I can't be pregnant so worried that something may have happened to her he asked well are you sexually active and she said yes but my mother told me I can't get pregnant till I'm married. She honestly believed that procreation wasn't possible til marriage....So parents watch how you word things to your children.

Somehow a lot of them were told, and believe, that pulling out will prevent a pregnancy. They don't like the feel or idea of a condom, preferring to think they were "swept away by feelings" and girls are afraid their mother/little sister/siblings will find their container of bc pills.

Because they either want a baby, or they don't care if they get pregnant.

Yeah, well. Once they have a baby and have to drop out of school to take care of it, they'll learn their lesson.

It's really horrible, I know. But they seem to think that they have it under control (*rolls eyes*).
I just pity all the people who are killed by abortions.
