Hi there, Jess! Yes, with wireless internet built-in you can go to places that have free wi-fi and get on the internet. Just remember that you have to be a certain distance for it to work. I recently traveled across the country and sometimes in a motel, I was in a room too far away from their wireless router to receive the signal.

If you want a new battery, go to dell.com to get the battery or buy from a different vendor. Any legitimate vendor should have a battery selector that will ask what system you have as well as the system's series (i.e. Dell Inspiron 500). If you have several options such as how many cells, get the one with more cells. The battery will have a longer running time than ones with less cells.

I hope this helps!

Look up your specific model on their website. You should be able to order the battery for your computer very easily. If Dell offers other batteries for your model of laptop, any of them will work.

If you go anywhere with your laptop and wifi is being offered for free, you should be able to get on it as long as you allow the network to configure your network rather than configuring your network settings yourself. If you don't even know how to setup your network settings and no one else has touched your laptop, you should be fine.

Basically what I'm saying is that DHCP has to be turned on and DNS servers should be assigned through DHCP setup. You can check this by looking at your network settings.

If you need more help, just ask more specific questions about network settings here.

yes, if you go to a place that has a "hot Spot", you should be able to connect. Many libraries have free wi-fi.

Go to Dell's web site to look up batteries for your laptop, or try Kahlon.
