When talent scouts searching for actors, models, etc. interview potentials do they choose those whom are perfect as is? Or might they choose someone and tell them to improve something like lose 5 pounds or change their hair, etc.
I'm 5'5''-5'6'' and about 118 lbs, which is not good stats for a model, but maybe good enough for acting or something? Might they choose me and tell me to lose some weight or just overlook me all together?

Gone are the days of people wanting all their actors to be some ideal that is set forth in a magazine. People want reality and they want to be able to identify with what they see on the screen.

Issues of weight or hair change usually come more from a manager's point fo view as they are grooming you for a specific type of character that you are looking to play. If you're going in to see a talent scout, then chances are they are actually looking for your talent first and look second. An agent, or scout needs to be able to look at you for who you are, not what you could be. If those are your normal stats then go with them. There is a role out there for a 5'5 to 5'6 girl who weighs 115-120 pounds. You go a change, you might just miss out on it.

There no longer are talent scouts.. Agents and casting directors may be concerned about an actors' weight. All casting is done by look first. If you are invited to audition, it has all ready been deterimined that you look right.
