8800GTS and some factory overclocked 8600GT or GTS also occupy the space of a X1 PCIe or a PCI slot. In a few instances, there could be slight interference with the Southbridge cooler (if larger than typical). Slight modding of the SB cooler usually takes care of it.

It's hard to tell from this picture, although this case looks pretty cramped. (FOR THOSE ANSWERING, CHECK OUT THIS PIC: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883107398R&Tpk=m8120n )
Dear god that thing is messy...you may want to buy some straps and clean that bad boy up (which may require you to go to the local computer store and buy some extensions--or longer cables and/or extensions--so you can tuck those wires away).
Open your case and see just how much room you have. My 8800 gts is ~10''x1.5'' and sits approx 4.5 inches off the mobo. Now, it's 10'' long, but you have a power cable that extends from the end, so it's really about 10.5'' long (if you bend that wire down or up).I can't quite tell from this picture whether it will go under that...whatever that bay is called the 15 in 1 memory card reader, audio out, etc. Maybe that can be removed, if you don't mind not having those extra audio out/firewire/usb/s video.
You could go ahead and buy it, then if it doesn't fit you can: a) return it and pay the restocking fee b) purchase a larger case that will hold your mobo (not sure if this is an option, since it's hp). It's an Asus P5BWLA according to this: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?docname=c01070924&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN . If you could call Asus or HP to find out what the motherboard will fit in. Then you could buy a cheap case.
