First of all, let me set the record straight:

THERE IS NO WAY IN HADES THAT THE TIGERS WOULD PICK HIM UP! WE DONT NEED HIM, NOR DO WE WANT HIM!

We can do without his attitude and lack of performance come October.

A-Rod has the right to opt out of the contract. He is making about $25 million a year right now. Unless he is too miserable on the Yankees to stay even for that money, he is not going to opt out. However good he is, he is making above market value. So he would have to opt out to make less money. An athlete might do that at the end of his career just to win a championship. A-Rod is not at the end of his career. So he is not going to opt out of his contract and if he did it would be to win a championship. Why would the Tigers offer a better prospect than the Yankees? They don't. So it's not going to happen. A-Rod will not opt out because no one can afford to pay a single player more than $25 million per year.
Yeah, the Red Sox have strung Mike Lowell along by hinting that they might be interested in A-Rod, but that is more likely a) Theo enjoying the opportunity to make Brian Cashman nervous and b) keeping the pressure on Lowell to accept the contract that they tender him.

Tiger fan here.

One, I don't want A-Rod, he costs too much and has never performed when it counted (October). I'd much rather have the Tigers go after another shortstop so we can move Guillen over to first and trade Casey away.

Two, A-Rod won't opt-out. Noone can pay him what he wants and is getting from the Yanks.

The Yankees fans will feel very happy about that A-Rod go as decides to focus on the young players who have good stats in second half.

A-Rod might have joins Tigers but many teams are interest in him. He might not have any World Series ring in his career with only his huge contract in his career. Let's see after this season.

I think the Yankee fans would feel just fine because then they would have a shot at the world series and Detroit would not.
Arod is too selfish of a player to win a ring.

Go everyone (because I love baseball, not a specific team)

Yankees fans have no emotions, just an undeserved sense of entitlement.
