I had a normal ultrasound at 8 weeks (everything was fine and I saw my heart beating). Today, I am 11 weeks pregnant and I don't plan on getting another ultra sound until 20 weeks. Lately, I've been worried that my baby is not alive, but I can't help the feeling. I've been spotting on and off (very light flow brown)since my last pap smear at 8 weeks. I take my prenatal vitamins everyday, but I take tylenol when my back pain is very very bad. I took 4 sudafed tablets for my allergies a week ago (I took 2 one day and 2 the next day). I asked my Dr. if i can continue to take them, and she said not until 12 weeks, but I can take Zyrtec or Benedryl before 12 weeks. I havent taken any pills because I think already harmed my baby. Can my baby die in my womb based off my particular story? Other than my high blood pressure I am totally healthy. HOW DO I KNOW IF MY BABY IS STILL ALIVE AND GROWING NORMALY?? I still have sore nipples, nausea sometimes HELP please.

Go to your doctor and ask them to do an ultrasound and check the baby.

OKAY TRY TO RELAX>>> If you lost your baby you would be having a lot of bleeding and you would be in pain...

I completely understand your worries though.. I am 22 weeks with #2 and I am slightly worried like everyother pregnant woman.. But Honey you realize that by completely freaking out and getting really up set... that can actually hurt the baby to.. So just try to relax... If you are really worried than call the Dr. and ask if they can do an Ultrasound or check or the heart beat or something to ease your mind...

You can rent a Doppler, (to hear the heart beat) I believe I've read somewhere that it cost about $30 a month.. OR You can buy the $20 on at Wal Mart.. BUT those don't really work very well until 5 or 6 months... unless of course you want to listen to your Digestive system..lol..

If I was as worried as you seem to be.. I would call the Dr. and just make sure everything is okay...

Good luck Honey and Hang in there... I WISH YOU THE BEST>> God bless

It is pretty common for some women to spot after pap smears. If you still feel "symptoms" your most likely fine. Sudafed and Tylenol are fine to take while pregnant, think about all the babies born to drug addicts and alcoholics...and no, I'm not endorsing it, I'm just saying that if crack doesn't kill a fetus, the two most commonly approved drugs certianly won't. If it will make you feel better you can go right now, and get a pregnancy test. Seeing that double line should help ease your fears. Also your temp is probably just below or around 99.0 degrees farenheight. It will drop when bleeding is about to begin. This can fluctuate, but it's usually higher when your pregnant. Check out BBT charting to see what I'm talking about. Don't spend the next 9 weeks worrying, it's natural to worry, but it's not really healthy. So... Relax, focus on baby stuff shopping or something more productive to worry about.

It is normal to worry sweety I did the whole way thru my pregnancy and I didnt even get excited that I was pregnant until the baby came out and cried then all my emotions of excitment came to me at once because I was a worry wart so try and enjoy your pregnancy please and go to the doctor tell him your concerns and get another ultrasound if that reassures you I did and it did.
Once the baby starts moving and kicking you will feel alot better as u will know the baby is ok. If the blood isnt bright red with cramping you should be fine also. Just let the doctor know you are concerned my doctor (when I was further one) also used to listen to the heart beat and that helped me aswell.

Good Luck sweety try not to worry.
Once the baby is born you worry all the time its the begining of a lifetime of worry apparently lol.

im assuming you diidnt atually yhave a pap at 8 weeks but perhaps some other type of exam. spotting can be nnormal annd dark blood means that it is old so usually nothing to w orry about but of course scary. everyone worries during pregnancy its jsut part of it annd you will worry forever about your child so perhaps i ts preperation.

limit your inntake besides tylonal until 12 weeks. consult youor drs office before taking any meds after 12 weeks. you most l ikely did no harm so start focusing on being e xcited and planning for your babies arrival. believe it or not i t does go by fast.

you wont feel your baby until may 16 weeks or later but at that 20 week ultrasound you will have a ball seeing your little one move around.

later in pregnacy you will feel the baby annd you will be able to put yuor own mind at ease
relax and stop worrying that isnt good for anyone
be well

Dont worry your going to stress yourself out. Your baby is safer than you think. I'm sure it's fine. Is this your first? I can understand. When i was pregnant with my first i thougt something was wrong when i was like 7 months. I didn't feel him move for like a week. I got an ultrasound and he was fine. Just a lazy baby. Sleeping the entire time. Got him sucking his thumb and all. If your still in doubt, go to your doc and ask for a non stress test. Like a physical. They will check your cervix, and use the heart machine to hear the heartbeat. dont think like that because it can put stress on you which means even more on the baby. Good Luck!

I know you do not plan to have another ultrasound until 20 weeks but if you are spotting and concerned your doctor can arrange for another ultrasound, and you should be able to hear a heart beat at your next dr's visit after 11 weeks.

Congratulations, Im the same as you, I had my first ultrasound at 10 weeks now I'm 13 weeks and spotting on and off tooo!!
I heard that as long as we still feel the symtomps we should be fine..I know sometimes my mind plays me good, and even I stop feeling my nipples sore, but then when I'm not thinking about it and accidentacly touch my boobs....the pain still there, soooo I think we are just thinking too much :(
let's try to be possitive and don't stop going to your monthly check ups.
Good luck

The chances of miscarriage after seeing the heartbeat goes down considerably but nothing is going to ease your mind until you go to the Dr. Until then take a pregnancy test, when the result comes up it will make you feel a little better and give you an answer until you can see your dr. At your next appt they should be checking the heartbeat with a doppler anyway.

I'm sure your baby is fine!
I know it is close to impossible, but try not to think negative thoughts and believe that everything will be okay!
Maybe you should schedule an appoint. with your gyn/ob, just to ease your mind?
As long as you aren't having any harsh cramps, and that your only spotting a light brown colour, I don't think you should be worried about anything!
You will have the most beautiful baby in only 7 months time!!

at this stage you just have to go on faith. Chances are your baby is fine, it takes many repeated exposures to a toxic environment to do damage to a fetus. The pills are probably not going to hurt the baby, but its wise to take your dr's advice. You have seen the heartbeat, which is reassuring. that means the baby is developing normally. By your next appt you will probably hear the heartbeat, and soon you will be able to feel him move too.
