It sounds a little weird but my baby used to have many wet diapers. 2 days ago I started to give her cereal in her forumla and Gerber once a day. Now I notice less wet diapers. Is that normal?

Pediatrician told me to start her on rice cereal in her bottles and gerber, btw... I didn't just start feeding that because I wanted to.

Yes it is normal. I have a 6 month old and he doesn't go as often as he used to either.

Is there any particular reason you are giving her formula and Gerber at only four months? The recomended age is 6 months (granted, every baby is different) and if a baby needs to take cereal in a bottle, then they are too young for the cereal. I only mention this (not to criticize) because she may be having some digestive issues due to a diet that is a bit too mature for her digestive system.

Good luck!

you should try giving your baby juice in between feedings, no more than 2 ounces a time. and 4 ounces a day...
helps prevent dehydration.
The number of wet diapers shouldn't be all that different.
Baby's get liquid from gerber food as well.
Like I tell all the people who have baby qestions...
please ask your pediatrician, and buy a book about baby 411.

They only should decrease wet diapers if there liquid intake decreases. So if by eating solid food now babies drink less liquid then yes it would be directly related, but if not then they might be getting a little fever and dehydration. Hope this helps.

No. She needs more formula, less cereal and offer her water between times.
