Greetings from the Great State of Alabama.
Guess some of the people here have had some bad experience with some one from Alabama, sorry about that.
Every state has their residents that are not exactly the poster child for smarts.
But this 54 year old says hello and welcome to the state.

I generally DON'T go around thinking about people from Alabama. I am, however, absolutely CERTAIN that people from Alabama would prefer that you showed some modicum of respect, as well as literacy, by spelling the state's name with a capital "A".

I think like any state, people from Alabama are very diverse. From conservative small towns to more open minded larger college towns, most Alabamians are polite, friendly and love SEC football.

I have only encountered the people that are prejudice and self-serving. Sorry, but you said to be honest. I have yet to meet anyone there that doesn't think that the rebel flag is our nations flag. Sad. I am sure that there are decent people that live there, I just haven't met them.
