hello,.
an excellent motor vehicle, very reliable
maintence is 3000 mile intervals, at that mileage its basically checking fluid levels and filters.
no major maintence until 60k
that will be fluid exchanges and cost you about 700$

Well that is the W140 series (the Princess Di car) The good news it is one of the finest roads cars out there if in fact THE finest.. Rides like a dream and quiet too, handling is very good. Now the bad news, they can be maintenance nightmares. There are a lot of things which can go wrong. I have a W140 but mine is a Diesel (S350). I love the car. Mercedes has spent about $22,000 replacing things on it and I haven't really had many problems since (on the other hand just about everything has been replaced).
So I guess what I'm saying is, plan on spending a few bucks but you WILL have the FINEST road car out there.
It would be nice if the previous owner had ALL the paperwork and maintenance records.

Beware of engine bay wiring harness problems. During 92 thru 95 MBZ was trying to use a biodegradable insulation for their wiring, and anything wiring in the engine bay got crispy like a potato chip after about 5 years.. If you have to move the wiring, the insulation cracked and fell off. If you have to replace a sensor, it becomes a problem. Figure $2000 to get a dealer to replace it or $800 to buy it and put it in yourself.

well, it's a lot of miles, but Mercedes are good up to at least 200K, so that's the life of the car you're getting, for future reference. you want to be sure that the current and prior owners have kept it up on maintenance, otherwise you could have some expenses up front, but once it is all checked out and ready to go, Mercedes are excellent cars. as for the maint. schedule, you would have to check the manual (and if they don't have one, you can purchase one); but it won't vary that much in timing from the car you already have.

I have owned several Mercedes. I have had very good luck with all of them. I don't use mine everyday. I make sure the oil and all the maintains is properly done. I have even bought used ones and had great luck. I just bought my daughter,(first year away for college) a 190E sedan. It's a great Mercedes for her and I know it's dependable and a well built car. Go for it. Good luck to you!
Oh, one more thing, it you ever decide to sell it, the resale value is always good. I have never had any problems selling any of mine.

If this car was well maintained, it will last another 110K easy, BUT have it checked by a good Mercedes mechanic before you buy.

Thats an old car and the fact thats its a mercedes means the maintence and cost for replacement parts would be very high.

Check the wiring harness on that year, make sure it is good or has been replaced.
