What type of shark is this, and what exactly makes it look like it's shedding? Fish can produce an excess slime coat which sloughs off, so that may be what you're seeing.

This could also be one of the cyprind sharks and it could be losing scales?

It's hard to make a diagnosis without seeing the fish. Is there a possibility that you could post a digital photo of the fish? If you don't know how to do this, email me through my profile, and I can help you do this. Also, if you have any more info related to the questions I've mentioned above, you can add it to this question using the pencil icon beneath your question to "add details". I'll check back in a bit to see if you've added anything.

Meanwhile, look at the first link below to see if there's anything that stands out as a diagnosis. If you can up with one, use the second to find a treatment.

Are you sure he's shedding and it's not mildew or algae or some sort of parasite. Is the water clean? and do you clean the rocks and all other accesories when cleaning the tank. If everything has been cleaned properly but the fish is sick contact your local aquarium store or vet.

I dont think they shed but I have heard of something like this when the tank overheats. Check your tanks temperature please, and the water parameters just to be sure.. Then maybe we can help some more. Good luck have you checked online websites for fish diseases?
