Hi everyone,

What do you think about my life? How can I improve it? (Sorry for the poor grammar--English is my second language.)

I am 22 years old. I am a lower middle class. I am a virgin. I am a good person. I am studying full-time (last year in a Master's program) I am working two part-time jobs. I want to save my money ;therefore, I have no cars, no phones, and living in a little room. I hardly have a social life because I am spending my time working and studying.

Sometimes, I am proud of myself because I will have my master's without debts or student loans. Sometimes, I feel so discourage and down to see other people my age have fun and enjoy life while I have to work so hard.

What do you think? Please advice. Thank you so much for your kindness.

Those other people depend on their parents and u don't.

You are what they wish they could be but they just don't have any self control.

Congratulations on becoming an adult who is thinking about her future in this crazy world.

keep up the good work .... you are a great example for all young adults.

FIrst of all, you stating that you are lower, middle class says that you have some self esteem issues. We should not be identified by our social status, but by the kind of person we are inside. It just might be that you are emerging yourself into work/school to AVOID the social scene. So, I would think about that. You might be depriving yourself of the small luxuries in life because you don't feel you deserve them. Certainly you can afford a cell phone or at least a hard line phone for 8.00 a month for low income people. You NEED that connection to the outside world girl. GET A PHONE! I say cut back a little on your classes next qtr. Make a point to make some friends either online or through at a college group you are interested in. Hell, I'll be your online friend. You need human beings to connect with. We all do, no matter what, we can't live in a cage. It's unhealthy. Good luck to you!

I think you are a very dedicated and goal oriented young woman. Young being the key word. You must follow your dreams, but not at the expense of loosing your passion in the process. I admire you for getting your masters degree, and doing it debt free at that. You should remain proud of yourself, don't ever let other people's lack of discipline get in your way of that. You can however take from their enjoyment of life and learn to relax when you can...even without spending any money. Life is all about balance and you are leaning too far on one end of the teeter-totter which could cause you to crash and loose your vision for the future. Try going out for 2 hours at a time. Tell your friends this is ALL the time you have and make a game up that will take about that long. Try going to Wal-Mart or somewhere cheap that you can walk to with a lot of different choices and tell each person they have 30 minutes, or fifteen, to go find ONE gift for each person in the group, or assign each person someone to shop for. The gift has to be under $5 and something the person you are shopping for would LOVE and actually be able to use. You don't have to buy the gifts either. Just exchange them in a specific area of the store and walk around together when you are finished and put each item back. Or go to the book store and pick out books that would best describe the person you are assigned. Same goes for listening to songs in the music store that would best describe their life. Whatever you do, do it with a relaxed mind-set, WITHOUT thinking about work or school and HAVE FUN!!

I think it's definitely hard what you're trying to do, but you know what? All those people enjoying life out there- they're gonna have debts to repay in the end.
You know all debts aren't bad. Student loans, car loans, and house loans are all forms of good debt.
See if you can get by with 1 job or why not try to socialize more in your classes? like talk to people and ask if they are interested in hanging out later on? I mean even though you lead a pretty busy life I'm sure there's still one moment in all those days where you can just relax even if it was for a little while?
I would ask you to consider applying for student aid and see if you can secure some federal subsidized loans. These loans have a VERY low interest rate and you won't have to repay them until you're out of college for after about 6 months or to a year. If that's what it takes to improve your lifestyle, then heck I would certainly use that opportunity.
(BTW You have pretty good english!)

You should be able to do both. Continue what your doing but pare it down just a little bit....It does sound like you're immersing yourself in the future and forgetting about the present. (What you're doing is great, by the way).
Slow down a little bit and enjoy life a little more. Who cares if you take an extra year or so to attain your goals?
My gut reaction about you is that you're going to have the SAME thoughts and doubts when you actually REACH your goal.
And you know that's correct, don't you?
You sound like somone who will do everything the way you should in your life and when you get REALLY old and you'll be the first person to die from NOTHING!
Lighten up, do what you're doing but just lighten it up a little bit. Your uptightness probably comes across to guys in a different manner than you think.
Anything that's on one track can be boring. Or are you hiding something?

It is extremely hard to see others your own age out having fun but I am telling you that YOU are making the right decision. You are setting yourself up for a comfortable future and that is important. And the time to work hard is when you're young. I admire you for having a direction, a focus so early in life. I hope you are so very proud of yourself.....because you certainly should be.
