I work for a O.T.B in new york.It is a politically driven job.Depending on what party is the majority in the county thats who runs otb.About two years ago the the tables turned and power changed and NOBODY got a raise. They also took away overtime,if you work on a holiday there is no time and a half and not even a cost of living raise. Also im not forced to do political work its but its looked down upon if i dont and the hopes of a merit raise goes out the door.So no matter what i do for otb doesnt count its what i do politcally that does .Being connected to someone political helps your sallary as well, but good luck if your not.The scale of pay is either fantastic or not guess what side im on?Is this legal to operate a company like this?If i want to complain,i have no union or a relative in politics to protect me and they would fire me just like that.

There are no laws about holiday pay and raises but there are federal laws about overtime pay. Any hour over 40 in a pay week is overtime, unless you have an exempt position. Go to the Dept of Labor (www.dol.gov) and check out your state's dept.

Contact your state labor board and file a complaint.

And the lack of money at your job probably has more to do with the economy sucking than what political power is in office. Haven't you noticed the price of everything has gone up? Well it has for your bosses too.

If you hate your job, and aren't making enough cash, find a new job. It is the American way.

There are lots of jobs that dont pay overtime or holiday pay. If you arent happy with that you need to find a new job and ask the right questions at the interview.

Paganism would be lesser-familiar to the international at great, yet maximum persons are assembly and interacting on line, no count number if it particularly is as properly to or quite of having a community team to connect up with. on the cyber web our presence is lots extra suitable, and that i detect it frustrating to have self assurance that we are unknown to every person who surfs the cyber web with any regularity. I do think of they'd desire to merely make a commonplace "Pagan vacations" area; there is such quite some diverse paths below the Pagan umbrella which you will particularly record hundreds of fairs. of course Yahoo communities, final I checked, did no longer have a Pagan classification the two, even although I belong to a minimum of 7 communities specially coping with my very own particular course (Hellenismos) this is possibly no longer that great in numbers, and be responsive to that there is a ton of alternative Pagan communities on there. we are sufficient of a presence for Yahoo to take word.

find a new job, you are in a situation that is never going to resolve and you are never going to be able to advance. This type of operation thrives because good people like yourself take the crap they dish out without a wimper. A new job would be a huge boost to your ego!

Since you do not have one reasonably positive statement to make about your working conditions, you need to find another job.

It is obvious that you feel trapped in this situation, but you really are not.

Life is too short to hate your job and place of employment.

Good luck in the future.

why dont you just quit before they fire you? do it..its not worth it...you can find an employer that will appreciate your contribution enough to give you paid holidays, overtime, etc...
