I listen to my dad's old records from the 60s-80s, and they're all so great! They're also really inconvienent.
Soooo are you a curious young person or --DARE I SAY-- somebody who was alive then?

The Trooper, I know what you mean, I'm 11 and I'm growing up having to listen to all this crappy music on the radio like Nickelback and My Chemical Romance. I'm glad my dad kept his record collection.

in fact, i am 32..but since my early age, i was interested in music..mostly music from the "early" days. Sure...."my" musical-time has been the eighties...but personally...me...
i prefer music from all decades..from the 30´s up till the good and "secret" songs of the eighties....
I wished sometimes, i was born, when the first Jazz-scene
in ol´NY in the late 30´or 40´started....or or or ...
i dont know how old you are, but i think its quite great, if you are interested in the "older" stuff. It "keeps" you more oriented, in what happened before "today´s" music..these were times, for me, when
music was a lot more interesting...to me, personally!
bye

I love records and I'm only 16!
I bought a record player this summer and I've got a small collection of records that I listen to all the time. Records are my favorite music format.

I'm in my mid 20's and have a big crate full of records. I enjoy listening to them because there is a warmer sound to them because they were recorded with all analog equipment and all that. Yea, modern equipment is very crisp and clear and all that, but there is just something about listening to that music on record.

My son inherited my grandfather's very significant country collection of records and books. Now my son has grown up with an appreciation of real country, and it's very country roots. You'll also have music appreciation from listening to your father's collection.

I grew up on my dad's old record's, it's pretty much all I listen to now even. I save a lot of $ just listening to his music or burning it onto my comp lol.

are you kidding me? I practically listen to the 70's and 80's alone... i think today's music is garbage compared to back then. Look at my profile to see what bands I like =)
and i was born in 89, so no in my childhood i was introduced to rap music, which I later learned was garbage and I saw the light.

We were moving rather quickly and had to get rid of a lot of things. Like a fool I gave away my LP collection. Probably one of the dumbest things I ever did.
CDs are OK, but they lack the richness found in LPs.
