Just wondering what stereotypes people honestly believed about other cultures are races... most have a few whether they have ever vocalized them or not. Like some people believe all asians are smart... I don't but some do... some people believe all black people can dance... and well they can't... there are some that aren't so positive that people believe as well... so what are yours... I mean no one here knows you so let it out. I've always wondered. There are even some about your own ethnicity you might think true... I only ask because I think they are at the root of racism, that and a some other things that would take a term paper to asses, and maybe through dialog we can laugh them off and debunk them for some people.

ok guy thats ranting about affirmative action... your Olympic track team reference... I don't see how it fits. Thats a process that is hard to discriminate in, who ever ran the fastest gets on the team it just makes since. Affirmative action does that same thing... but i don't think affirmative action if it were to be implemented should be merely a numbers game more should into play. It should simply acknowledge that why you resume may not be as extensive, look how hard you worked to get, even harder than this guy... so I will give you the job... anyway thats not what I was asking...!

I think it's a racist stereotype to say that white people are all racist.

Stereotypes are not bad if they're accurate and if you also aware that not everyone fits a stereotype.

"Like some people believe all asians are smart... I don't but some do... some people believe all black people can dance.."

Anyone who believes *all* Asians are smart is obviously mistaken, but it is certainly true that academically they do a whole lot better than most other races in this country.
This doesn't mean that a specific black person cant be better qualified than a specific Asian - it just means in an average sample of Blacks and Asians, the latter will have higher academic skills.

What needs to be rooted out is the racism that measures outcomes by numbers and insists that in a population of a 1000 accountants, or doctors, or whatever, there should be x white women, y black men, and z hispanics, and if there are not, then the selection process is racist/sexist and needs to be "fixed".

Nobody looks at the Olympic track team selection process, or the NBA roster, and complains that it's racist.
