That is how i kept my son's head clean from cradle cap with baby oil and a fine tooth comb.
When you get that stuff off and then it reappears i would do the same thing again until he didn't have it any longer.
Treatment of cradle cap is with mild baby shampoos. The scalp should be washed regularly and this along with soft brushing should help to remove the scales. Some people advocate the use of a baby oil or mineral oil (but not olive oil as this encourages proliferation of malassezia). Small amounts rubbed on the affected areas may help to soften the scales, which can then be more easily removed.
If the cradle cap doesn't improve with frequent washing or if the rash spreads to other areas, your doctor may prescribe a medicated shampoo containing ketoconazole, and hydrocortisone cream for any inflamed or reddened areas.

Continue using the baby oil. Just make sure you rinse it out thoroughly or it can clog pores and irritate skin as someone mentioned above. It should go away over time.
If you are still concerned, ask your doctor at your baby's next appointment. The cradle cap isn't harmful to your baby it just looks icky. But if it is persistent enough even after using the baby oil I think there is a prescription for it but doctors would rather you use the baby oil if that works.

I'd recommend only using the baby oil while she still has the cradle cap. It may take another week or so to get all of the cc out. Massage it in really well, and comb through, and give it time. Also, remember to wash it out and rinse it really well because I found that since it's oil, it's really greasy and took a while to actually get out of her hair. Goodluck

I've heard that baby oil was not good to use. I used an over the counter treatment and while it was on her hair use a tooth brush to to brush the scales up then rinse after that I used head and shoulders shampoo and again repeat with the toothbrush. I used head and shoulders for the next couple of weeks and then once a week from then on and have never had it come back . My daughter is 3

follow soaking the scalp in toddler oil for 20 minutes till now the tub. tub as regularly occurring and wash out the toddler oil with toddler shampoo. The cradle cap will brush authentic out afterwards. extremely undesirable cradle cap could take 2 or 3 purposes. toddler's dermis is only too gentle for the tough chemical ingredients in Selsun Blue, plus if you acquire into their eyes you should reason lasting harm or a minimum of have an extremely indignant grumpy toddler for some days with sore eyes.

My doctor said to use a really, really, really, really soft toothbrush with some baby shampoo. then softly scrub where the cradle cap is just enough to loosen the dead skin. Then rinse it out. It has come back a couple times in different spots but this gets rid of it every time.

If you keep using the baby oil and gently combing her hair before a bath then it should clear up really soon, just make sure that you wash her hair after you use the baby oil. I had to do that with my daughter and it worked really well. Dont worry about it you will get rid of it.
