I loved their music....Paulette Carlson had a great voice, but somehow I just couldn't stand to watch her prance around on stage with that skirt in her hand. The Bed You Made For Me and Whiskey, If you Were A Woman were both very good.

I loved them when Paulette Carlson and Jack Daniels were in it. I have a cassette I just about wore out!! Loved the songs, Somewhere Tonight, and Whiskey, if you were a woman. Paulette had an awesome voice!

Traditional country music died in the 50's. It was stomped out by "Nashville Sound" country.
I do not like Nashville Sound. For one thing, I'm not depressed, but even if I was, I would never choose to listen to lyrics about being drunk and a bunch of old ugly people (like Conway Twitty, say) committing adultery. It's disgusting.
The two songs you mention (one about crying and one about adultery) do a good job of covering the range. Old time country was MUCH better in terms of subject matter.

"Bing Bang Boom", "Till I Get It Right", "Wherever You Are". I liked their sound; of course, I also liked the highway, 101, in California, especially the northern part!

I saw them in Fredericksburg Tx. at the county fair back in the early 80's. "Whiskey if you were a woman" Was the song my ex said reminded her of me...I can't understand what she meant by that..LOL
