ok i get this new acer aspire 5100 laptop and it wont work with ny flash drives i put into it. it asks me for the driver but it wants me to put in a cd. frist it trys to find one that will work but it cant so it asks me for a cd and i have no cd that has a driver on it for flash drives. im running windows vista. can some one help me in this issue or at least give me a driver i can install so it will work

try another USB slot. one of them eventually should work w/out problem.

If you're running Home Basic...you're screwed. It does NOTHING. An aquaintenance picked-up an MSI laptop in February with Vista HB on it. Couldn't even watch movie DVDs on his computer with all the correct programs & drivers installed, because HB doesn't support it!

You may have to fix the problem the same way he did...upgrade to Home Premium (or better).

For the drivers, you'll probably have to download USB drivers from scratch.

You may of deleted the installer on the flash drives.

first find out
what brad the flash drives are
there should be drivers on there sites

for example
an hp flash drive

u go to hp.com
