the conversation, as in, forgot what they were talking with you about and it happened more than once during the same conversation? What do you think is wrong with that person?

he/she is doing something else perhaps chatting with another person while chatting with you.

They either are just not into the conversation at the moment, or it may be something physiological. Women going through menopause can experience this. People who are anemic don't have enough red blood cells that carry oxygen to the brain. That may be a possibility. Also possible signs of dementia or Alzheimers.

It could be the person was distracted,
just wasn't that interested, or it might
be a symptom of serious trouble.
You might try to find out which.

If it's one of the first two,
your conversation needs help.

If it's the last, your friend needs help.

My mother!! It used to really irriatate me but I've learned she just has a very short attention span and doesn't mean anything by it so I just make a point of saying anything important at the beginning of our conversations.

Nothing is wrong, they just have a lot of things going on in their life, and lots on their mind.
