I do, the turkey and ham part of it.
Here in my apartment complex we are all family. We have a huge potluck, dishes from all over the world. It's great.
They always ask me to BBQ a big turkey and glaze a big ham. Then the guys go out and start the grill and put the goodies on when I tell them OK. Generally, we'll have dinner around 2:00 and the rest of the day we sit around and talk or go into our own apartments and nap (isn't that what everybody does when they eat that much turkey?).

I will be cooking the turkey with all the trimmings this year. We'll probably have 15 people, including my husband and me, for Thanksgiving dinner.

My youngest daughter is convinced that she makes the best stuffing, so she will be making the turkey. But that means me and my oldest daughter get to do the trimmings...mashed potatoes, mashed rutabaga, salad, mushroom gravy. And I imagine I will be bugged continously until I promise to turn out a deep dish apple pie and a couple of pumpkin ones!
Thanksgiving is October 8th up here in Canada this year.
It's funny how many "volunteers" I acquire at turning jack-o-lanterns into pumpkin pies on November 1st of every year as well! My enterprising youngest grandson even cadged a couple of meaty jack-o-lanterns off the neighbours so "Nana" could turn them into pies.

When I had a husband, he cooked the turkey because he loved fried turkey. By golly, the peanut oil cost a fortune to buy, but I let him do it because he enjoyed it. The turkey really is tender that way, but I prefer to wonderful odors coming from the kitchen.
been missing you here.

I will be doing it all for my parents like I have done for the past 6 years. Only thing different now is I live about 30 feet from my parents house now as I take care of them. I live in a travel trailer and I will being doing it here in my 8 X 30 trailer. It will be just my daughter, my parents and myself for Thanksgiving dinner unless my brothers family decides that they are coming to. They think they are better than us. Part of that story is in my profile. We do invite them over but they always seem to have something else to do. They do live next door to us.

Our family cant seem to get together for something only a week away much less Thanksgiving. My one daughter has a big house and is the best cook, but if we go to her place,my grandson's gf will be there and she ruins everything, every time. I vote for Olive Garden.

Unless we get invited someplace, a RESTAURANT will do the cooking. We had lasagna last year.
We're empty nesters and our kids live on the OTHER coast.
I can remember having a house load of sailors back in the 70's and 80's.
