We have a 6 day old baby girl, breastfed and has real problems bringing up wind!
Ive noticed while burping her that she sort of brings up something then gulps it back down in her throat and this seems to make her worse!
Our 2 yr old son had reflux bad but he couldn't keep it down he just threw it up...
So could this be a reflux problem too ?
Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

It could be reflux. Not all infants with reflux spit up. Some bring up the liquid into their throats and then swallow it (which is what you describe). This causes bad burning of the esophagus.

Try to sit your baby as upright as possible while feeding her. Also, keep her upright for at least 20 minutes after feeding. This might help cut down on the acid reflux, which is indeed what it sounds like you are describing. Many babies have these symptoms, but don't necessarily require medication. It's also helpful to raise the head-end of the crib/bassinet, using sturdy blocks under the legs.

It could be, but sometimes with a breastfed baby the milk comes out too fast and they are swallowing faster, so when you burp them some spit up will come up with the burp. Your little girl is probably just swallowing it back down. I would suggest that you call and ask her doctor just to make sure.

I had this problem with my daughter when she was about 2-3 days old, and she even stoped breathing (couldnt catch her breath) and I had to take her to the ER. The doctors told me that her mouth, nose, ect... wasnt cleaned out good enough and she still had some on the lining of her mouth, and that every time she ate the milk would build up and cause a restricted air way for a few mins. it was really scarry, all she had to do was spit up and all that stuff would come out and after that she was fine. I hope this helped you out.

Sounds like it. Keep nursing but feed less at a time. Infants have very small stomachs and you don't want to overfeed if there's a reflux problem.

I would definatly check with the doctor especially with the family history.
Burp her before she eats, between breasts- after eating. And half hour after eating. or whenever you hold her pat her back a little. Don't over do it
