I have just moved into my new house 3 weeks ago and received a solicitors bill stating fees etc for property. i have not received anything else to say the property is mine. I have been told the deeds go to alliance and leicester as they gave me my mortgage. Am i meant to receive something to state the house is officially mine? It is my first step on the ladder so i dont have a clue about these things!

You must have signed a contract to purchase the property - otherwise the Alliance wouldn't have released the money! Therefore you own the house. The Alliance keeps the deeds until you repay the mortgage as the loan is secured against the property and they don't want you selling it without their knowledge. You will be registered at the Land registry as the owner of the property.

Well realtors are NOT worthless. If you want to purchase a property that a realtor has not shown you, go for. My guess is you will be very unhappy in a couple months or years or when you attempt to sell the property, that things were not handled properly. This will probably cost you a lot of $$$ and much more aggrevation. You cannot remove your realtors name from a contract on a property that the realtor showed you. That would be illegal unless you have the realtors permission. Additionally, most sellers won't work without a buyers agent. If I'm selling my house, I'd much rather pay the commission than deal with an idiot buyer who thinks he understands legal real estate transactions. If you can find a property that you were not shown by a realtor, you are free to purchase it without a buyers agent, if the seller allows that....you will not get any kickback for not using an agent, that would be illegal. And no legitimate agent is going to answer your questions, except the sellers agent who certainly doesn't have your interest at heart.

The deeds will state that you are the legal owner.
So will the land registry
The deeds belong to the bank until you have paid the mortgage (safer there anyway because of fire proof safes)

Yes, absolutely. Do not pay the solicitor's bill until they give you a copy of the title deed. That is your right.

Wow.....home ownership is not something you just happen upon -- it should be handled very carefully. I'm assuming this is real estate, not a manufactured home on wheels or anything. I don't know what state you're in (which drives a lot of the requirements) but if it involves real estate, using a title company at the bare minimum. I would get with someone who knows something about real estate in your area to ask questions.
If you have not recieved the Deed that has been properly registered in your name at your county records agency, my guess is you don't own the home.

Are you in England? I'm in the USA.
If you bought the house, you must have paid alot of money. Did you get anything when you gave your check? Here in the US, we have a meeting when we buy a house to make sure all the steps have been completed. Did you have any kind of meeting?
