Exploitation. Porn refers to those who sell/are sold for sex and nothing else. Erotica is more rounded, sensitive, and artistic, if no less graphic.

Good erotica is VERY sexually exciting. Good porn is still only selling a piece of meat.

Allegedly, the difference is a literary quality that is found in erotica. I would consider Lolita to be erotica. However these days, erotica has become a catch all term people use to try and pass off porn as something literary. Most of what I read that is supposedly erotica online isn't even decent pornography. It's just plain trash. It seems that everyone who can write a story that describes a sex act considers themselves a writer of erotica. Pax-C

Porn is just a pejorative term, and what I would call the "cheaply made stuff."

Erotica has been around for thousands of years. It began as painting, sculpture and poetry, and eventually evolved into literature, photography, acting, and video.

Erotica is simply an alternative form of sexual arousal; it is harmless fantasy and nothing more.

Women should take note that there is a very successful series of erotic anthologies called "Herotica." The stories are all written by female authors - not male!

There are well over 800 million rentals of adult videotapes and DVDs in video stores across the country, and that's not 800 guys renting a million tapes each.

Too many people seem to just prefer the more pejorative slur,"porn;" avoiding the fact that most healthy men and women are aroused by erotic writing and images.

It's really just a matter of semantics.

Bottom line: both men and women support the production and sales of sexual literature and videos.

Great Question! And the Answer is TOTALLY subjective. You see, to SOME people- ALL "erotica" IS "porn", and to others- all "porn" IS erotica" !!! (and to everybody in the "middle", somethings ARE & AREN'T -each one). So; the bottom line IS- that THAT "judgement"- is entirely up to YOU... For like "Beauty", erotica & porn- in in the eye of the Beholder... :)

Porn is in your face,no holds barred, nothing left to the imagination. Erotica is more of a tease, not as graphic. Softer around the edges.

I think Erotica is just like no sex actually being shown. Just like girls stripping. Porn is the exact opposite.

Erotica gives you a hardon and porn wants to finish it off.

I guess for me erotica is more aesthetic, less sexually exciting, and porn is something deliberately meant to entice a person to sexual gratification.

Honestly, I think that erotica is supposed to be more in depth. Rather than just "LALALABJLAHBLHA RIGHT TO IT SEX".
Or, well, that's my opinion.
