funny thing, aside from the fact that both linger on the sense of smell; bad breath seems to linger in the brain more... dunno why...
oh, I just noticed u said LOUD fart... it has been my experience that the most heinous farts are silent. So I would prefer a loud fart to bad breath any day. That is.. assuming we are talking about someone else....
If we are talking about me, bad breath is better because I know how to hide that from other ppl. All I have to do is not speak directly into anyone's face.
IDK how exactly to mask a loud fart, without going someplace private.

Bad breath is more hazardous. At least the loud fart gives you a warning.

Well on the one side of this argument.... the noise I can prolly handle quite readily.
In terms of hazards - bad breathe pales into insignificance by comparison to a raging bull... the worst that can be said about it is that it can be very unpleasant.
So I would have to say.. the loud fart is more hazardous by reason that, given the worst circumstnaces, one can be trampled in the scurry to get away from what may follow it.
It has to be late in the evening and I haven't even had dessert.

Hazardous to whom? As the bystander I think the Loud Fart might be the most dangerous...it could make me die laughing...but happy...(now don't be rolling your eyes....you know very well that farts are very funny)... the Really BAD Breath...the stink could asphyxiate me...a slow death...no pleasure in that...so I'm sure I'd move away for it.
Hazardous to the perpetrator of the two stinks??The Loud Fart may offend...and raise the eyebrows....but we all expect it to stink...and we all do it...so we are more tolerant...BUT....I think the BAD breath would be the more dangerous....we don't all have this...so of course there are some feelings of entitlement and superiority... this odor usually smells putrid and rotting... and we expect the mouth to be clean...so it is so much more offensive and puts the offender in a more compromised position....
It must be very late at night.....what else would posses me to debate about STINK.....Well, your coming back.....I guess that would do it......

Bad breath ---The Fart is natural and very satisfying relief, but the bad breath is not healthy in any way.

Don't sit in the front row of the choir and bend over to pick up spilled sheet music off the floor, especially after a fiber filled dinner the night before !!!!!!!

A loud fart as you say, can go away, unless the odor stays there, but Bad Breathe stays with you longer, even though sometimes by brushing your teeth, it will go away, or not some people's bad breathe stay with them always, and those People should consult a Doctor, because it might be chronic.

Speaking of LOUD FARTING...I was shopping in Walmart one day and, [it must have been something I ate], because I was farting while shopping...but in the meantime trying to avoid other shoppers [it wasn't even busy that day]. Anyway, I saw this cute guy and I felt another one of those you-knows coming on, so I started to move away from him and to my dismay he was coming closer and closer to me...I got out of that department real quick. Shortly thereafter, I went to a Holistic store to look for some vitamins, and as you might guess, another one of those you-knows was coming through and there was a woman beside me, and at this point I was fed up with my farting episodes while shopping that day, so I thought to myself, ''what the ****''...so I just let it rip. I didn't give a hoot no more about what other people thought, and the woman beside me didn't say anything. I think that farting is one of God's gifts to us and others but BAD BREATH is NOT.

Lol enki you're intelligent, good-looking and humourous.
The breath is more hazardous especially when you tell the person to do something about it and they don't.
A loud fart is just a noise but it could be embarrassing for the person who did it, if they did it in a public place that echoes.

Well if it is just aloud fart then it is only the noise that is embarrassing but bad breath then that's a real stinky situation lol couldn't resist but seriously bad breath is gross, you can't help but fart ( you can control where you fart but eventually you have to let it out) but bad breath in most cases you can control it. So definitely bad breath.

well, a loud fart is obnoxious and stinky but it is single. just one. the smell will soon dissipate and all will be well. But bad breath.... that's bad. The smell can be wicked bad! And it is perpetuated continually every time the person opens his mouth etc. Plus, the awkward reality that the person with bad breath doesn't usually realize it, so how do you break it to the person he has bad breath? whereas the farter knows he farted.
