Being more intelligent makes you a better actor, unless you are drop dead gorgeous and have a awesome personality and a gazillion dollars. Some people just arent intelligent but have the looks the personality and the money, and that's okay. We cant have everyone being intelligent or acting would be based off of how smart you are. If your smarter though it helps you understand things better and faster, and you have more knowledge about the things that your doing.

By what criteria do you define intelligence?

While it is true that Language and Emotive skills are crucial to an actor, I have acted with (and in most cases against) some people who should not be allowed to deplete the Earth's Oxygen supply.

Intelligent people generally make better actors. Good-looking and Dumb As A Box Of Rocks people generally make more money.

But I'm not bitter.

I think it all depends. I mean, there are different kinds of intelligence, and how you perform on stage is affected greatly by that.

In my opinion, better actors are simply better actors. It doesn't mean they're more intelligent.

I think that if you are deticated and passionate about acting, it doesn't matter how intelligain you are. I mean, yes, you need to be a good reader and acting can help with literature but that doesn't mean you have to get a perfect SAT to be a good actor.

intelligence is good but it does not always define people as to acting

in acting there is no algebra
but there is you, the lines and how you can bring that to life ; that is intelligence
