im gonna drop something off at fedex. can i use duct tape to seal a box?

No. Tape the opening of your box and reinforce all seams with 2” wide tape. Use clear or brown packaging tape, reinforced packing tape or paper tape.

Fed Ex would probably reject it. It isn't going to seal well enough to make the trip. You need packaging tape. It's cheap enough at any Staples, supermarket, Target etc. and Fed Ex offices and post office sell it as well.

Yeah. Duct tape workes on everything, except ducts.

actually duct tape doesnt stick well to cardboard

no , it doesn't stick to carboard. Even though it sticks to everything else.
