Yes, I think I am. I was born in the US (my parents are Canadian) and my husband is an immigrant (from Germany.) There are so many things I love about American life... where should I begin. For starters, in Germany at a certain age children are separated into 3 separate schools, for those who will have menial jobs, working class jobs, or will go on to university. So essentially if a kid has gone through really rough times early in life and it's effected his school work, he may not have the chance or encouragment to still make something of himself. I'm glad that in the US, although we have problems in our education system, every kid is given the same opportunity to go as far as their classmates. Second, I love our religious freedom, and that all our family and friends accept us as a couple although my husband has a very different religious background than myself. That's maybe something we take for granted, but there are still plenty of countries in the world where it isn't so. Third, we're lucky to be living in a place where hard work can pay off and we have a fair amount of financial security... When you think how many people in the world work their whole lives for practically nothing, or have sharp minds but no opportunities for education, I think we're very, very blessed here to have all this opportunity open to us. So yeah, I do believe in the American dream...

I am living the "American Dream." My idea of the aforementioned dream is the freedom to practice any or no religion; earning what I have through hard work; the potential to better myself and others through higher education; and my freedom of choice--in many areas! As a woman I think it is crucial that I take advantage of my right to vote (and I do) which gives me a voice that others don't choose to use. I have options, choices, and potential. I have the freedom to do whatever I want, albeit there are consequences for each decision. I love my country and have a deep sense of gratefulness for all the dreams it has allowed for me to achieve.

oh dear god i hope not..... this would be a lousy dream.

I'm not sure what the "american dream" is.... probably something that my family had a few generations ago when they came here, but has gotten lost in the reality of life along the way. I haven't a clue. "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Hapiness" maybe?

The American dream is subjective.

I can't say that I am living but then I cant say that I am not.

I live in a wonderful country.

I have freedom, etc.
What more could I want.

American people are a little on the stupid side.
They have their priorities mixed up.
They are all wrapped up in hollywood tabloids. etc

My american dream would be become a pychiatrist or vet.

Probably I guess! Especially to foreigners. I've got a lovely house, a lovely family, I'm in high school, I have just enough money for everything and I'm finally living in a neighborhood I can trust (counter to where I was growing up) but I haven't reached potential fame or wealth, so I'm half-way there, oooooooh, i'm livin' on a prayer! :P
