Well lets see, Ty Willingham had four more losses than Weis, two losing seasons in a row, and seemed to be losing all of his recruiting battles. So, what? Three losses in a row, and suddenly all of that goes away? I guess even the grass you just left is still always greener.

Look, I liked Ty a lot, but the thing to remember is that being a ND coach is about more than Xs and Os and other things that other college coaches have to worry about. You have to be more than just a coach, you have to be an icon in South Bend. Ty, while an excellent coach, never seemed to "get" the whole Notre Dame thing, the culture of the school. Charlie Weis is home-grown, and he gets it. But Weis is having some trouble, I think, adjusting from the pros to the college game. He expects intelligence from all his players, and he's realizing they don't all have the maturity he's used to from guys like Drew Bledsoe and Tom Brady (or even Brady Quinn). So last Saturday against PSU, he changed his strategy and made the game really easy for his QB. Too easy, though, and they lost again.

Weis will find the balance and bring Notre Dame back to the top of the NCAA where it belongs, don't you worry. Just be patient.

Willingham made sure the players graduated...Thats for sure...but the only problem is, at ND, the Head Coach is supposed to make sure the players WIN TOO...The offensive problems have nothing to do with Jimmy Clausen at QB...He is doing well...Its the offensive line that sucks...Clausen and TE John Carlson are the only good things about the offense right now...I wish Weis would fire the right assistant coaches...He fired the defensive coordinator that almost won a national championship in '95 with Holtz...The secondary/defensive backs coach should have been fired...Also, the offensive line coach needs to go...
