The only team Notre Dame has played every season for decades is Southern Cal. Usually one of the two is ranked and the other is dogsh*t...not much of meaningful game. This year is a prime example. USC is ranked #1, Notre Dame is 0 and 3 this season.

It's not Michigan. There are only three permanent rivals on Notre Dame's schedule - Purdue, Southern California, and Navy. And the biggest rival is USC.

Probably Michigan. Michigan and Notre Dame are two of the most successful college football teams of all time (obviously not this year, lol) and they play each other every year. Plus they are geographically close.

Everyone ND plays wants to call them their rivals, but its really USC. ND's last game every year. I'm not sure why. I think its just one of those things where the two teams have played each other every year for so long.

Some argue its USC...I think given the proximity to each other, and being #1 and #2 as far as wins, I would argue Michigan...
