Oscars usually only get along with a small number of other fish. These have to be large fish like a jack Dempsey or Pacu. Oscars do very well alone because they are an aggressive fish who get very VERY large, for normal aquarium fish. I would wait until my Oscar gets close to it's full size before adding any other fish. This is because Oscars grow very fast [compared to other fish], and may grow faster than their tank mates, and will eat them at the very moment they can.

Ps. if you haven't secured your tank lid with Velcro yet, you should because Oscars have a tendency to jump to their deaths.

If you knew anything about Oscars you would know that you can have only the Oscar in the tank and no other fish. Oscar's are predatory and eat small fish, they only make good aquarium mates if you put in other fish too large to be considered food. Doesn't sound like your Oscar likes other fish. Best to keep him a loner.

umm nothing, as oscars are aggressive cichlids.... When stocking with a fish like this, the general rule is not to stock fishes that you arent willing to loose. Again it is common for oscars to be aggressive... And if you did research it shouldnt come to be a surprise.

I hope your tank is larger than 75 gallons for an oscar and a pleco....

Not from eating the goldfish, but he WILL grow rather large. I had an Oscar a few years back; got him when he was about the size of a goldfish, fed him pellets until he grew a little bit, then dumped a bag of feeder fish into the tank.within the span of about five minutes he had DEVOURED nearly fifteen of them, and the others were gone within the hour. The little bugger grew so fast and so big we had to get rid of him about six months later. Hope you have a BIG tank...

Oscar's can only live with other Oscar's. Very aggressive fish, and they eat other fish.
