In transit from one place to another.
My real honest answer is Toledo, Ohio. People tend to move in there for the strangest reasons and most of time due to bad luck or unfortunate circumstances. Most of the time not by choice. Hell my ancestors moved in thers and cause they got lost and could not afford the ticket to move out. So they settled in.
If you truly want the middle of no where, I suggest moving to Utah. You will not see any one for hundreds of miles and that is no exaggeration.

when i worked for the forresty service when i was 17.was living in Del Norte,colorado.
i and my spanish friend stayed in
service cabin near the RED RIDER RANCH. one late after noon we got cought in a bad summer rain.we took shelter in cave.
the next day we made torches and followed it till
it opend into a valley.it was like a perfect place.
a ghost town. with stores and nice dwellings
that had long seen high society.
when we left we took a few things like gold
coins and other things.
when the Rangers came up to take us down.we told them off what we found,and they laffed and said we was dreaming.
