I'd say these "aliens" would have different opinions than humans.

They'd probably analyze our power output, consumption, and space exploration abilities. also checking our DNA for possible future growth capabilities.

also whether or not our planet could be used in a useful manner for them and/or if they could work with us or have to destroy / relocate us

if they can travel through space and get live up todate info on us, they'd have to be able to understand and manipulate quantum physics................ this would open all kinds of questions that we can't even understand yet. They'd have new ideas and analysis that we could not comprehend so its hard to assume what they are thinking.

if they can travel in space, they are already 100s of steps ahead of us so I DO think they would "look down on us" to some extent.

if their willing to teach us or destroy us is another question

Well, the they're not the longest living life forms. Trees beat them by miles.

They're not the most socially advanced. Cetaceans are way more advanced socially... they live in a hostile environment among predators and they still manage to live in peace. By their own standards humans aren't as advanced as they claim. They say their various deities have ordered them to love their neighbors. Apparently they weren't listening. However, dogs, which species is supposedly barred from human heaven have mastered it.

They're not anywhere near the strongest.

If it was in my power as an alien, I'd make sure they never get to any other planet until they learn to live in harmony with each other and with the environment. We're like vermin... dangerous and destructive. If you were an alien and had the power, would you want that kind of critter wandering the universe?

that its weird that wed be walking around eating raw meat in little hunting andghather groups. they would be millions of light years away, thats all they would see. its impossible that they would be seeing us within the last 10 and a half years. since the closest exoplanet is 10.5 light years away, and thats a gas giant theres no life there.

That we are a very troubled lot who can't get on with each other, and if some of us can't accept the differences with have with one another (race, culture etc), how could we possibly accept and get along with aliens. - if they don't want to annihilate us all ( Just watched Independence day)
