is this a wise idea? there are colleges iam interested in. ive heard tennessee is amazing, and pretty similar in landscape to upstate ny. is this true? ill be traveling there this coming summer but i wanted to get some info first. i know its a few years down the road but im considering that when i graduate from college i could live in a suburb, like hendersonville, ive seen pictures, and i love lakes...and work in nashville. and also i wouldnt have a problem fitting in being from ny right? i mean i love the south, i travel to va,nc, and sc every summer and have no problem with southerners, i love them, especially southern boys ;) haha...also i know that housing is much cheaper in tennessee and there are lower taxes. any info or opinions would be great

Hi there! I live in Hendersonville! I moved here 6 years ago from Las Vegas- I was born and raised in the SF bay area. So, yes, I think that a New Yorker could be very happy here. Because of the economic situation, there are an awful lot of transplants here from all over. So you certainly wouldn't "stand out". The schools here are great. Housing is reasonable. No state taxes. Great people. Beautiful landscape- really beautiful. And four distinct seasons- but milder than up north. So, good luck to you- and come on down!
