We have a plantation style front porch that is terribly stained with that Georgia red clay. I've tried bleach, pressure washing, scrubbing but nothing is working. It's also stained the base of my white columns. Other than hiring a professional are there any easier remedies I can try first?

Acid wash or use a power washer. You can get both at Home Depot or Lowes. We have the same problem with Red Oklahoma Clay.

I know you need an acid cleaner, Try pouring some white vinegar on a spot and let it sit for about 2 hours and then wash it with washing detergent. Vinegar is acid, just might do something.Sorry I couldn;t be of more help.

Let it dry and you should be able to brush it off. Getting it wet makes it stick. Clay is really a kind of mud, or wet dirt. If it has hardened because of sunlight, you may be able to scrape or chip it loose.
