I have a question on a homework question. All I need to know is this...

There is a box diveded into 4 squares. The top left box has an 'A' in it. The top left box has a 'B' in it. The bottom left box has a 'C' in it. And the bottom left box has a 'D' in it. Above the 'A' and 'B', it says, "Variable 1". Next to the 'A' and 'C' box, it says, "Variable 2" can you please explain it to me. I would really appriciate it.

Thanks!!!

I need it explained to me. I would really appriciate it.

It sounds like a sort of graph. If "variable 1 is on the top, above the A and B box, and "Variable 2" is beside the A and the C, it says that as variable one changes, varaible 2 changes. When A changes, or varies to B, C changes to D.

That sounds like a Latin Square experimental design. The Latin letters, A, B, C, D, represent four different treatments with two other sources of variability.
For example, variable 1 could be 2 different operators. Variable 2 could be 2 different machines. The Latin letters could be 4 different assembly methods.

It sounds like a contigency table or confusion matrix, which definitely is statistics.
