In the U.S. you cannot move out without your parent's consent until you are 18. There are a few loopholes though.

You can appeal to the court to be emancipated. This easy enough to do, but it is unlikely the judge will grant it to you. Consult legal aid in your area to find out more.

Another loophole is if you get married to your boyfriend; some states will allow you to marry under the age of 18. However nearly every state requires that the marriage must be approved of by your parents and his parents.

In the UK, legally you do need your parent's permission to move out at 16. However many children do leave home at this age without their parent's consent, and there are no repercussions for the parents or child. It is highly unlikely that any legal problems or social services involvement will arise, unless your parents ask the police to get involved and return you home. However, as long as you are in a safe environment, and you are reasonably mature, I cannot foresee any problems on a legal level. On a personal level it is a different matter, you could damage your relationship with your parents and bring added strain to your relationship with your bf, if you insist on leaving home without thier consent. I left home at 16, without my parents consent and we didn't speak for months. I found it hard emotionally, although I wanted the freedom and responsibility, not feeling that I could connect with them was at times painful. Sit down and talk with your parents, be prepared to accept that they may disagree with you, it's only because they love and want to protect you. I'm sure that waiting until your 17 feels like an eternity, but it will fly past. In the meantime get everyone together, so you all have a chance to get to know each other. This could help with any concerns your parents have.

If you live in the US, then you can’t move out without your parents consent unless you’ve been emancipated in some manner, such as marriage (which requires parental contest) or court decree. Hint: No judge in any state is going to emancipate a minor so she can move in with her boyfriend and his parents.

If you runaway and Boyfriend’s family takes you in, then they can face charges for doing so.

At 18, you can move out.
