Ok koala, this is gonna be a tough one you being shy and all but you're actually going to have to talk to them... yes that's right talk to them. Doesn't even have to be the one you like. Just get used to speaking with other people. Just don't depend on crutches like alcohol to give you confidence. The consequences get bad and anyway it wouldn't really be you. So in conclusion get a couple girlfriends together and go out and flirt or whatever, heck setup some group dates like going to an amusement park with mixed group of guys and dolls. Hiding doesn't get you what you want.

I was 19 and never had a boyfriend. I was talkative to my friends but extremely shy and stand-off-ish. I wouldn't speak to guys because I was afraid to be turned down. Don't worry. it'll happen. If you have a lot of friends, guys and girls, on your next birthday throw a party, invite everyone you know and some you barely know. I'm sure some guys will take it as their opportunity to ask you out on a date in a birthday card. Good luck. Hope i helped somehow....

Argh, I'm having a hard time wording this. I don't know if you're a religious person, but most towns have church social events where you can meet and talk to single people. If you have any hobbies you could look into local groups and get into one that shares your interests. It is ok to be single... Don't settle for someone just because you don't want to be alone. Take time, look around. You will find someone special.

Get out there talk to some boys and see if you have anything in common. You always have a option of a blind date set up by your friends or something. i still think that you should just talk to boys but it's your choice.

Do something fun that will attract attention to yourself. Color your hair a bright color (deep red, perhaps). Wear some clothing that really makes a statement or attracts attention. (People will come to YOU to say something) Don't worry about what other people think of you, because it'll never change who you are...and if they don't like who you are, then you don't need them in your life anyway!
