F = (9/5)C+32

replace C by C-5

F = (9/5)(C - 5) + 32
F= (9/5)C - 5(9/5) +32
F= (9/5)C - 9 + 32
F= (9/5)C + 32 - 9

compare with original formula, you will find that Fahrenheit dropped by 9

==> when Celsius drops by 5, Fahrenheit drops by 9

If you look at the problem, it actually tells you.

9/5 * C, so a drop of 5 degrees C will be a drop of 9 degrees Fahrenheit.

It's 9/5(C-5) + 32 = 9/5 C + 23.
For every 5 degree change in C, F changes by 9.
