Ok i asked this question once and apprently i didnt give enough details. I got answers like, Eve's song and even High school musical when I asked for Schwartz's music... I'm a guy, 14 years old. I'm a sophomore. I'm auditioning for my school's rendition of Cats. I'm looking for a really upbeat song from Stephen Schwartz or anything related to his style. I really admire his songs like Day by Day(Godspell) and Corner of the Sky(Pippin) and almost every song from Wicked. I'm looking perhaps something less familar but familiar enough that I can find the accompaniment for it(yes its required for me to find a CD accompaniment) which means DEFINITELY nothing from Wicked, perhaps something that requires a long held belt note at the end. I do not have that high of a voice, I'm a baritenor without the range if that makes sense. I just havent found my natural high range so most female(non-love song and not too feminine of course) belt numbers would work for me.

Cats was by Andrew Lloyd Webber, so you may want to consider Any Dream Will Do from Joseph. Corner of the Sky is good, What about There's a Sucker Born Ev'ry Minute from Barnum?

If you really want Schwarts, try Turn Back, O Man from Godspell or something from Working or the Baker's Wife?

I also suggest:

You're The Top or Be The Bluebird - Anything Goes
That Face - The Producers (too high?)
Once In Love With Amy - Where's Charley
Grand Knowing You - She Loves Me
All I Need is the Girl - Gypsy
Uptown Girl - Movin' Out
Marian The Librarian - Music Man
It's A Fish - The Apple Tree

As for the accompaniment, ask your voice teacher to play it for you and record it on tape then just play your tape at the audition. If it has to be CD, check out Pocket Songs online or any music store. They generally son't have as good a selection in the store as they do online though.

have you ever seen Bye Bye Birdie? i will guess How attractive To Be a woman might artwork great for you! Kim is 15, it is no longer a belty music. She's a tomboy who thinks she's starting to be a woman now (yet she's nonetheless basically a infant) :-) additionally examine out something Sandy sings in Grease, no longer very belty the two and regardless of the shown fact that it is nicely general, no longer very over finished anymore. some songs are famously sung 'belty' yet you additionally may lead them to your individual and a director make like them with a softer sound, you by no skill understand. basically make your individual stable character selections and if the director makes a tenet, pass with it! I additionally like i'm Calm or or That'll practice Him from A humorous factor got here about on a thank you to The talk board. there is likewise Goodnight My somebody from music guy. no longer my well-known, yet genuinely soprano and not belty. examine out here characters and what they sing of their shows: Wendy - Peter Pan Joanna - Sweeney Todd Tuptim - The King & I Nanette - No, No, Nanette youthful Sally - Follies Julie Jordan - Carousel Luisa - Fantasticks that ought to get you started, yet of course there are a brilliant form of judgements obtainable! solid success!

I like doing '42nd Street' for my audition. Its simple sounding, upbeat, well known and the last note you can sustain.
