My sister-in-law had this with my brother, where she couldn't prove what he was making per week. The judge ended up taking the "average" salary in our state and made him pay child support based on that.
It is illegal for someone to work "under the table." I would also turn him into the IRS and your state's Department of Revenue, give him a real headache. If he has a car and rents an apartment or has a house, the gov't will know he's getting an income from somewhere. Really stick it to him!!

Most states have laws that when he goes into arrears that he has to go to jail.
If you know where he is working under the table, report him to the federal authorities and get the employer in trouble for paying him under the table. You will have to have a lot of evidence to support this, so be prepared.
If he owns anything, you might be able to seize property in lieu of money. If he's buying stuff with his ill gotten money, he should have plenty.

I don't know where you live, but here Oklahoma the child support enforcement unit can take away driver licenses and any licenses that he made have until he pays. This happen to my ex., he was mad but he started taking child support more seriously. Also if you can find out where he works and when he there maybe they can send someone to talk to his boss. I don't know where you live, but here getting paid under the table is illegal and he could be facing jail time. Good luck!

It's a little risky but you can report him to the IRS, and social security. But if he finds out you are the one that reported him, be aware of some bad circumstance. If he is fraud against the government, that is a very serious matter to answer for.By reporting him, and if he is convicted could mean some serious jail time. Of course that won't help you financially, bu then you will get assistance from the state. Just think this over before you act on this matter, I really would be upset if you got into trouble because of my suggestion. Good Luck

You're kinda in a bind here. You can't attach wages that are not being legally paid.
There's a possible alternative. It involves private detective expense to prove that he is working. Even that's not a guarantee, but you wouldn't be the first one to do this.
Talk to your divorce attorney. They usually have those kinds of contacts.

No, there is nothing you can do. Accept that it is all on you financially. Go to court and have his visitation rights canceled until he starts paying the support.
