Phoenix overall is a decent place to live. There is a lot of good shopping here, there's lots of sporting events to watch, and the nightlife here is excellent. You can get to Las Vegas, San Diego, or Los Angeles by driving only 6 hours, or flying only 1 hour. Some of the things that are not so good in Phoenix are bad traffic, lousy public transportation, and it being very crowded in the metropolitan area.
Phoenix does get hot in the summertime. From late May until late September it gets very hot during the day. During these times, daytime highs are generally between 100 to 110 degrees. It RARELY gets to 120. Because we have low humidity, I don't think the heat is any worse than being in Houston.

It's not 120 degrees everyday in the summer time! it'll get there, but not all the time. Yes it's hot, and a little humid during July and August, but there's alot of places to go to so you can cool off. It all depends on what you like to do. The traffic is pretty bad now, but that just tells you that there are a lot of people that like Phoenix. It's rare that you meet someone that is born and raised here.

No, you have really fair skin and prefer the forest to a desert. You'd hate it.
My point is no one on here knows you well enough to make such a huge decision for you. You've only heard it can be 120 there? Haven't you ever been there? You might want to at least try a trip there once or twice before you make a decision. Do some research.

It is very hot in the summer and a lot of people only live there in the cooler months. Go out there now and see what you think of it in September.

Its better than lots of other places, but like that girl said, check it out, before you decide. Even if you dont know anyone, rent a cheap compact car, and stay in a motel 6, drive around, see what you think.

it's beautiful. the only bad weather is in the summer (and sometimes the winter if it frosts), but usually, the temperatures are just right all year round. plus, there's a lot of humidity in texas. it'll feel a lot better in arizona, since it doesn't feel as muggy.
