We just got a new car and it spends a lot of it's time in our garage so it doesn't get that dirty but when it does,I let my husband do it . I cook, clean, do laundry, gardening and cut the lawn, chauffeur grandaughter and any decorating that needs doing (painting, wallpapering) so he gets to do the car!

Sometimes I take it to the car wash, but not the automatic part. Wash it myself and wash the engine as well there and then I vacuum it out there. Or I do all that stuff (except for the engine) at home with the good old water hose and soap bucket and sponge. Then I dry it off and some times wax it. The I drag out the vacuum cleaner and vacuum it out. Wipe out the insides really good. Clean the tires and wheels good and spray the tires with Tire Shine.

I can spend a day easy on mine cleaning it. And you are very much correct about it being hard work! I also do my parents truck for them. And I am almost 51 years old.

When my car is cleaned I do it myself, but we live down a red dirt road, so it's a losing battle. It's either covered in dust or mud. I used to work as a bookkeeper in FL at a car wash, so I know a lot of people hire it done and yes, it's really hard work!

I wash it occasionally, and just hose it down if it starts looking dusty.I do the windows if it bothers me, I get out the old windex or window cleaner. I do not detail it. I should vacuum it, it is starting to get leaves and stuff inside. But then I would have to pull in the garage and get out the vacuum cleaner. But it's only me and I'm the only one that is in it.

I used to put on my old red coveralls and do it all myself. I used to change the oil, check all of the fluids etc. My ex-husband taught me how and I enjoyed every minute of it! As soon as I get over my upcoming surgery I intend to get back into it. But I agree, it is definitely hard work. Go sit down and relax awhile now jennyann 4.

Mine is a brand new 2007 Hyundai and I was it myself. I don't eat in it and I don't smoke in it so thus far I've only had to vacuum twice. I might be hiring someone to put a coat of wax on it before winter.

No. We've been in a drought situation for over five years. So, I take it to a hand car wash every once in a while if it begins to resemble a crime scene.

I usually do it myself, but take it through a car wash on occasion.

It is hard work.
