I've been living here all my life, and the thing I've never gotten is this: We give Indians, women, black people, and Asians the benefit of th edoub,t if something happens to them, it's because of their race according to them. Yet, if things happen to white males, we can't make those claims.
The minority groups also have special privileges we never had. I feel predjudiced against from being white and male. Why is America so dumb to this?
and I almost forgot to mention, they can makes things like "College for the Black people of America" "Womens college" ect.
Yet, if their was a "White college" the Brown vs. Board of Education ruling and law would be brought up.

Johnny B: Hmm, I think they have this equality thing a bit wrong, if it's the minorities get it better.

Cashmere: I know my American history, because of what was done in the past by the ancestors of some white people doesn't mean the ones in the present should pay, and it doesn't mean the ones who these things never happened to in the present should get special treatment.

AlexB: find me one white college?
And for example, a privlege I'm left out of, other than Native, Women, and Black colleges, is land. Native Americans get extra, cheaper, land, without as many government rules.
It was 100-200 years ago that we took it; they should be conformed by now, and infact are, other than this whole special privledges issue.

tyliah03: It's nice to hear someone not playing the race card. and yes, I am aware that not all minorities do, only some. But laws permit and encourage this as well, which is my problem.

Well this is a tricky one. Throughout history The white man has done some terrible things to others. The white man has killed Indians and stole their land, enslaved black people and denied them their god given simple freedoms, and so on and so on. Having said this, the white man also has a conscience and does things to try to remedy the errors of their ancestors. Unfortunately in the white Man's quest to provide the equality they have historically denied certain races and genders has created an even greater equality where people of these races feel as if they have been wronged and deserve something for nothing, even though they weren't even born while the problem took place (like slavery for instance). I agree that there should be no special race groups and it is time we as Americans, not white, black, men, women, etc. start treating each other as equals, period

It's a very difficult situation. Theoretically, we should treat everyone equally, because all people are of equal value. However, the truth of life is that society does not treat people equally, so there are many programs that attempt to make up for this by giving preference to those who are discriminated against. In a way, this is a form of reverse discrimination, but I think it's at least a step in the right direction inasmuch as it recognizes that there is discrimination in our society and attempts to do something about it. As a white male, you really are in the privileged position most of the time, so I'm guessing that you might not be aware of just how good you've got it.

yeah they call it that but anyone can attend those colleges...it is alot of people that like to play the race card and i can't stand it (BTW I'm Black) I feel like now a days there is equal opportunity for everyone and minorities should stop using it as an excuse not saying that racism does not exist still but i fell like for every racist encounter you have you can have 10 non-racist encounters or opportunities. But all minorities are not the same its just that the ones that are playing the race card are publicized more. and those colleges are better knows as "Historically black colleges"

If you pay enough money to the goverment you can do any dam thing you please. But here is the joke about this. If you have a good lawer just point to the constitution and there it gives every body the same rights, There is no mention of exclusions in it but self appointed officals dont pay attention to that part.

Since more everything is white owned and run, that's why the minorities need some recognition. For years the courts and society gave preferential treatment to the whites and it's only fair to redress some of the wrongs done to minorities. Don't just look at the present, learn your American history. There's a reason that minorities are still struggling.

I never, ever give people a free pass for bad behaviour because of race or sexual orientation.
To hell with double standards.
Some of the people I love most in the world are white, heterosexual males. When you ain't hating on me, you're beautiful.

Considering that our jails/prisons are full of minorities, if we gave them the benefit of the doubt they probably wouldn't be there right?
What special privileges do you feel you don't have?
Also, there are plenty of "white colleges," and they keep them that way by not being explicit in their titles.

I first wrote a serious response, and now I'm more convinced that you're a troll who is pulling our legs with an outlandish statement in order to generate irate answers. My hat is off to you, senor troll -- the bad grammar, poor punctuation, and sentence fragmentation really give this question an authentic air of stupidity. I almost fell for it. Kudos!

There is no law that states "You can't have a white college" You want to start one, go for it. But understand there have been "all white schools" for hundreds of years and now you are bitchin and complaining about schools that are MOSTLY black. Like Howard University is MOSTLY black. It isn't 100% black. Just keep crying man, you will never understand it.

I agree. The idea of maintaining equality between the races/genders, by giving special hand-outs to certain people, based on race/gender, is one of the greatest absurdities of our generation.
