How do betta fish breed?***
Like most of the labyrinth fish, bettas are bubble nest builders and will readily breed if a male and female are placed together. Because their eggs (as well as the fry) are lighter than water, they will float to the top. Many books on the subject of fish breeding agree that bettas are more difficult to breed than most other gouramis.

Male Betta build what is called a bubble nest.. the female is lured into the nest and spawing takes place. This can be a bit harsh and sometimes the female gets pretty beat up. If she isn't ready The male can kill her with all his pestering.. In this case you need to try a different female. After sapwning the male then drives the female away.. he will kill her given the chance at this point so she has to be removed. The male then tends the nest picking up any eggs that may have fallen to the bottom. Aftera few days male needs to be moved because he will eat the fry. That's how it works...
Males, unless breeding, don't fight with females.. but they will fight at every opportunity, with other males. mmm sounds like some men I know lol

it is a complex procedure that can happen very eaily, the male will choose a female out of about 35 they do there bit and it is done.
If doing it at home then is alot harder becuase you obviously carnet keep 1 male with 35 females so u usually put about 5 females in a tank first let them become established and then place the male in a week later otherwise the male will kill the females.

They won't kill each other if they will be conditioned at least 2 weeks before the actuall spawning process
I mean the female will still be beaten up a bit most of the time, but she can be cured back to health very quickly again

Hope that helps
Good luck

common question! the thing is, if the male betta has an interest in the female, it will reproduce, but if it doesnt,it will kill one another.i guess its a luck thing, and if u are planning to breed them, let me tell you it will take a lot of females and patience.unless you REALLY want to breed them, i suggest you dont really try this.

in case you place a male and a woman bata fish jointly they gained't kill one yet another so this is risk-free till they reproduce. you could shop them in with the mummy yet as they become previous the adult males will would desire to be bumped off to maintain them from scuffling with. The women individuals can all stay jointly without situation. i desire this helps.

you can keep a male and female together, but most pet stores dont sell the females because they are drab looking.
but they wont fight each other.
dont you just hate seeing them in those little pots?
