Cuba and Mexico represent cheap Sun destinations for Canadians. They are great winter escapes if you want to go to the beach. These are sun destinations that are closer to Canada than other destinations.

Japan and Netherlands would be more expensive to get to, so you would have to want to more. I would assume more Canadians with heritage connections, more cultural interest, etc would go. They would compete with visits to the rest of Europe and the rest of Asia.
