Can you ever Escape something without quitting something?
Suicide is Honorable. Quitting is considered a negative. What about the abused wife. The Beatings occur nightly. The hospital visits are getting to hard to explain or excuse. The kids see Mom getting the **** kicked out of her every night. She decides to leave the relationship. Is she a quitter?????? YES!!!!!!! Is she right???????????
Some people (including ME) feel the same pain as the abused spouse. We are beaten every day no matter what we do. We awaken to terror and see it grow daily. Facts about us that no earthly body know haunt our every minute of existence. We are not quitters, we are survivalists. To survive, we must leave this earth, this world, our life. We are not escaping, we are taking positive actions regarding our existence. I see the "Do gooders", and the "Bible thumpers" are already attacking your question. Research them and look for a plausible source of knowledge. It does not exist. They are blowing smoke out of their personal opinions. Opinions, not reliable sources or personal experiences.
For many people, Suicide is a decision. If they were quitters, they would not have the strength to plan and execute the decision. Suicide is a fact of life "or end of life" for many people.

Both...I see no difference between 'escape' and 'quitting'. Nor do I think suicidal people are cowardly. Not at all. They are very brave for doing such a thing.

There are many different forms of suicide...and reasons for them.
If someone is in unimaginable , irreversible pain then it is an escape.
If someone is generally self centered and just can't get what they want , then it's not only quitting but a mistaken idea that they are punishing the world by removing themselves from it.

A way of quitting. Instead of trying to solve life's problems you're just giving up. Nothing is worth ending your own life.
