This is very important to me in what has proven to be a boring offseason filled with unneccessary drama.....
"Like I'm telling you who I am" is one of, if not the best contributor on Y!A since I have been here. His knowledge of the game and experience are unparalleled. Just wanted to point that out. Anyway, whoever he is, I really appreciate your insight and knowledge of this game that were have stuck by through thick and thin. Your work with the Hawks in the past and unwavering dedication to your team is a testament to many what it truly means to be a hockey fan. Simply put, in case somebody hasn't done it before, thanks for your contributions. Even though I am a lifelong wings fan, I can almost cheer for the Hawks this year due to your insight and opinions. (almost) lol.
It is good to hear insight from somebody who has experienced the game from your side. I read almost all of your posts and I think you are the most grounded person here considering your background.

Slainte mhath!

Well said Bob. Agreed.

Ok, Dave, you are the exact opposite of what I am talking about here.
Just thought we needed to give credit where it was due, not for being a Hawks fan, but for having a solid base of knowledge and deciding to consistantly share that with us.
For every one of him, there are 36 of you morons that I have to sift through. Thanks for getting my point, and confirming the need to acknowledge a great contributor to this site.

I read your blurb, and you seem to be insinuating that there are hockey fans who are NOT Black Hawk fans?

I didn't think such a thing exists ;)

Seriously, I'll die a Black Hawks fan. They gave me chance as a 16 yr old kid to show them what I could do, and while it didn't happen on the ice........I did contribute to their 1971 and 1992 Stanley Cup runs. Everything I have Is due to people like Art and Bill Wirtz, Rudy Pilous, Billy Reay, and Tommy Ivan. Ivan's the guy that made the powerhouse 60s team.

Anyway, I thank you for your comments, they are greatly appreciated.

I want to thank ZapCity, Bob Loblaw, Formerlysuspendedguy (I love that name), Zamdriver, and several others because it is interesting to see the insight that each and every one of you bring, the different angles you have, etc on what I consider to be the greatest game on the planet.

I also want to thank Snoop because his questions keep me coming back every day.

I also want to thank cyrenaica, one of the most knowledgeable hockey guys I know, without him I wouldn't know Yahoo Answers exist and wouldn't be here (and he better dedicate the books he's working on to me)

I've been very fortunate to have spent the better part of my life in this game. I played this game at a time when you gave it your all. University wasn't an option for everybody (the number of Universities in Canada has almost doubled since 1960) back then. Scouting didn't pay much, but it paid the bills, and it allowed me to do what I loved.

I wish everybody who loves the game, to get involved. Volunteer to be the local scorekeeper, if you have kids, volunteer to be a coach. Visit the Hockey Hall of Fame, Visit the US Hockey Hall of Fame, Support minor hockey, support junior hockey, inundate ESPN with phone calls,

Funny thing Zam. When I first noticed "Like I'm Telling You Who I am" and his claims of being a former Blackhawks staffer, I was, to say the least, very skeptical. So I just kept an eye on his posts to kind of decide for myself.
I now believe every word out of the man's mouth (er, keyboard), he is VERY knowledgeable and kudos to him for coming on here and sharing that knowledge with the bunch of yahoos like us. By far, he is the BEST CONTRIBUTOR to this site in my opinion. Very rarely have I ever disagreed with anything he says. He is always dead on. I always stop to read his stuff because I know it is not drivel.
I've never hated the Blackhawks and I am disappointed by their demise, especially fan wise but I too will (almost) root for them.

Good acknowledgement and long overdue.

BTW, I will still (hopefully) find out who you are. I just haven't bumped into Cam Russell lately but hope to soon.

Two things everybody needs to know about Like I'm telling....

1. He has a story for every situation (my favourite deals with the search for beer in laundromats)
2. He ALWAYS picks up the tab

Actually Zam besides our good friend you have just saluted (and I echo), I'm excited about Toews. He may change my tune about the Hawks (currently I don't care for the team but that's the Wirtz's fault).

Indeed. Thanks for coming here Like I'm telling you. And heck, I'll root for the hawks this year, just not for the game my team plays them. besides, that was my dad's team growing up... He was even alive when they won their last Cup!

Like no one has ever cheered for their team when they were bad? I'm not taking anything away from him because he does know a lot about hockey but your acting like he's the only fan on the only losing team.

anyone can create more than one screen name and answer themselves.
the proof is at the blackhawks message boards, where 2 people comprise more than 8 screen names.
