I want to get one of them.
Out of the ones that are out right now, which one is the best?
And, do you think Resident Evil 5 will be amazing enough for me to just wait to get that instead?

Resident Evil 4 is by far the best. All versions (Gamecube, PS2, and Wii) are incredible. The PS2 version has more unlockables than the Gamecube version, but I still like the GC version the best.

well if you have not played one before you may not like them anyway...BUT!! ..I'll give it a go.!!! the two best games in the series are RESI 1 on the gamecube (the remake not the original) and RESI 4 again on the gamecube... now this is where it get's tricky (deep breath) resi 1 came out in the late 90's.. they then remade it a few years ago, it is only on the gamecube but is by far the best of all the resident evil games...But resident evil 4 is on 4 systems!!The gamecube version is the first,.. the p.c version from all accounts is a lazy port ... the ps2 version has extra content(a lot of extra content!!) and now the wii has a version with the extra content from the ps2 version(stops to light another cigarette).. so to sum up ...RESI 1 (remake) for the gamecube then RESI 4on the wii..( if you don't have one) gamecube(if you don't have one) ps2... do not get the P.C version!!!!...... P.S resi 4 is a very different type of game compared to all the other resident evil games..get both if you can(1 and 4)

Resident Evil 4 is definately the best one out of the series. The ones before have aweful camera angles and are really hard to control. Although you don't have zombies in Resident Evil 4, you get crazy village people which are just as fun to blow up.
I never really enjoyed any of the Resident Evil games before RE4. I can't wait for RE5. If they keep the same easy to use controls and pump up the graphics, it will be the best one!

Well I can't give you any input on the game cube system, I have never played on one. I own a PS2 and the early RE games are lame. But RE4 is awesome!! It is now my second all time favorite game, I bought it when it first came out and paid $50.00 for it and it was worth every cent!! Now it's on the greatest hits list and it only costs $20.00!! I highly recommend getting RE4 and then RE5 for the PS3 when it comes out. In point of fact, I can't think of a better reason to spend $600.00 on a PS3 then to play RE5 when it's released.
Maybe we will get lucky and they will remake all of the RE games for the PS3!!!! Now that would be the BOMB!!!!!!!!!!
