1] first.do what Morgaine said - go thru all closets, drawers, etc, and get rid of too small, too big, wrong color, or just tired of it. Donate the stuff in good shape.
Then determine your body type [ pear, plus, boyish, petite, or busty ], and best colors - Cool or Warm.
COOL look best in:
white, pinks, cherry red, coral, lemon, mint, jade, forest green, sky, royal, navy, lavender, plum, gray, black, and silver jewelry.
WARM look best in:
ivory, tomato red, peach, orange, rust, golden yellow, lime, kelly, olive, aqua, turquoise, teal, purple, caramel. coffee brown, and gold jewelry.
Buy tops in your best brights and pastels, for maximum flattery; and bottoms first in your neutrals [ gray, navy, black; or caramel, olive, brown.]
2] make a list of what you have - how many summer Ts, blouses, tanks, camis, etc, and what colors/styles you already have. Ideally, each of us would have Ts in every color we look good in, with various necklines; plus enough other tops to equal 10 -14 for hot weather. [ pastels and brights ]
3] then list winter tops - Long sleeve Ts, pullover sweaters, blouses, button front shirts, etc., and what colors/styles you already have. Then list what you need to add for 10 -14 tops for winter. [ pastels and brights, various necklines ]
4] do same with jeans - 3 - 4 pair, various cuts and washes
5] summer bottoms - slacks, capris, bermudas, shorts, skirts;
ideally, 7 - 10 total [ neutrals first ]
6] winter bottoms - slacks, skirts, and include jeans [ neutrals first ] - again, 7 - 10
7] be sure to include shoes and belts that match bottoms, then branch out if you wish
8] top layers - cardigan sweaters, jackets, sweatshirts - in neutrals and then some brights - at least 6, so you can dress up almost any outfit
9] get at least a bag for summer [ fabric, straw, etc , and one for winter [ leather, quilted ] - use your colors
10] seasonal attire - dress coat, quilted jacket, hat, gloves, scarj; swimsuits [ at least one one piece or tankini, and at least one two piece or bikini ], and coverup/hat/tote
11] invest in tops first - they show up by your face, and people notice them
12] start collecting jewelry in your metal [ gold or silver ] in classic pieces [ hoops, bangles, cuffs, neck chains ], and favorite gemstones [ Christmas and birthday lists! ]
13 - always shop with a list - I carry a cheap 3" x 5" spiral notebook, with lists of needs/wants, and colors/styles
14] consider thrift stores for new basics - it's cheaper, and you re-cycle!
15] search outlets, sales, and clearance sections
You must feel great saving up all that money - CONGRATS!

what i would do is cut the money in half or keep 3/4-- save half of it or 3/4 and put the rest in the bank so that then you feel confident in having money left over. Since you already know what stores you like, go to those stores and pick items that you would consider good investments. Make sure that the clothes fit properly, are durable, and are not going to go out of style by next season. This way, your clothes last longer and you dont feel like you have to go waste money on more up-to-date clothes. Go to stores that are cheap but have clothes you love, so you get more for you cash. Make sure that you have the basics in your wardrobe too. Black pants, fitted jeans, a nice white shirt, khakis, flip-flops, ballet flats, a watch, a delicate necklace, a pretty dress that you can make fancy or casual, a black sweater, and a hoodie. Its also good to invest in some cool totes and belts and jewelry. The great thing about having all these clothes is that they mix and match. You can wear jeans with a sweater and ballet flates one day, and then the next wear a dress with a hoodie and flip-flops. Its really important to have basics in your wardrobe. Also, when you are shopping, its really important to think long-term (because, you know, this is your money that you saved up so you dont want to waste it). The three most important things to keep in mind: if the clothing is going to last a while (durability, is it classic?), if it fits with other things in your wardrobe (can you mix and match it with things you already own?), and will you wear it.

target has amazing stuff for really low prices- because they bring in cool designers from everywhere so you can find some really cool peices there.
Nordstrom- they have a lot of great stuff there, plus a great selection of denim and accessories in the junior section
macys- they have a huge junior section and they always have a sale or two.
abercrombie, hollister, american eagle- they always have great stuff
GAP- they have really awesome clothes for layering and a lot of classic peices- khakis, long sleeved tops, hoodies, sweaters, jeans

hope i could help. HAVE FUNNNN! =)

Well if i was u, i would try to stand out in the crowd. Start new trends. Well one thing ull have to do is buy the things u need first like if u need sum more tee shirts. Then u look online for things u no are cute, so when u go shopping ull no exactly whaty u want to buy. Then u can buy things from ae ambercombie, and nordsroms. If i was u ill buy outfits that coordinate with everything so u wont have to always be buying new stuff. Also ill recomend a new hairstyle and sum nice designer stuff. If u saved up for it, why shouldnt u use it. Its ure money rite! Ok i hope i helped :)

keep in mind what you already have and shop mostly for 'classics' things that will stay in style for awhile. try to make sure that when you are shopping you are buying pieces that can be worn with at least 3 things that you already have or plan on buying (3 seperate outfits) that way you maximise the # of outfits you get out of each piece. Then take like $150 and buy some outstanding accessories that will spice up those new outfits making you really stand out. Also dont forget a great pair of shoes because you cant feal great about your outfit if your shoes suck.

Go for pieces that you'll be able to get alot us use out of. Buy yourself a couple pairs of really nice dark jeans, a nice winter coat. get neutral things you can mix and match with what you've already got. Spend a little more money on quality pieces that will stand the test of time. go for quality over quantity, classics over trends. Get the basics now and you can buy a few little trendy things to update your woardobe in future seasons.

Keep in mind fall/winter is coming, so don't blow all the money at once. Save like $600 for the winter. Thick coats/sweaters are expensive. Spend like $400 or Summer/fall clothes.

Well shopping at them stores with 1000 dollars isn't going to get you much. Ever think of stepping off of that high and mighty stool your standing on and going to Walmart or something alot cheaper?? I personally don't have that kind of money to just blow and if I did, I wouldn't be spending it on just clothing. Apparently you don't have any bills you pay!!

get some stuff for now. then wait and buy stuff for winter. then wait again and buy stuff for spring. you dont wanna spend it all on one season and then have to wear all that over and over. spend a little at a time so that the money will last and you'll be getting new clothes for a while.

Go make three piles of your clothes
pile 1- Keep
pile 2- give away
pile 3- throw out
Then replace the stuff you're getting rid of.
Try everything on you're not sure about and only keep the stuff that makes you look FABULOUS. Give away stuff that you haven't worn for 3 months, but is still in good condition, and you know you won't wear it again.
Just throw stuff away that has holes or rips, or is faded. If you give that stuff away to someone they will get offended.
